The results from Insead Business School are in for the Global Talent Competitiveness Index 2018, which is entitled as the ‘Diversity of Competitiveness’; and this year Mauritius came in pole position within Sub-Saharan Africa. From 119 countries across the globe, Mauritius came 46th and was measured against how it enables, attracts, grows, and retains vocational and technical skills, as well as global knowledge skills.
This report indicates that talent diversity leads to innovation, and although it was discarded during the industrial age, it is ever-present and prevalent now and needs to be tapped into more. Organisations, cities and nations need to show visionary leadership, while educational institutions need to support them by building the populations competences.
The results from the Global Talent Competitiveness Index 2018 shows that developed, high-income countries dominated the high scores. Despite this, it is clear that Mauritius is climbing the ranks as it continues to create smart cities that push innovation, intelligence and sustainability. Coupled with these developments, this African continent continues to attract diverse cultures from across the globe.
