Time and again, Mauritius nabs the top spot in Africa. For this occasion, Port Louis in Mauritius ranks first in Africa in the 20th Mercer Annual Quality of Living survey. In amongst 321 cities around the world, Port Louis ranked at 83rd. The criteria each city was evaluated against included factors such as political stability, education, recreation, healthcare, crime and transport.
Mauritius as a continent performs phenomenally each year, and it is to no surprise that its capital city is the most liveable city in Africa. Port Louis is the financial hub of Mauritius, being the home to the main harbour, with further plans to expand the port and connect the city with the sea. This will therefore create better facilities, more job opportunities and improve productivity.
